“Low” and “No closing cost options” are available on proprietary “non-FHA” reverse mortgage programs. With a higher interest rate, borrowers can opt to receive a lender credit covering nearly all of their loan closing costs. “No closing cost options” are not available to borrowers that require state specific recording taxes such as Florida & New Jersey. There is a non-refundable independent counseling fee of approximately $125-150 on average, which the borrower pays directly to the counseling agency paid outside of the closing (POC).
